The Gifted and Talented Education Program at Public School 145 serves grades kindergarten through fifth, providing an accelerated curriculum for children who show potential for performance at remarkably high levels. Students are able to master core curriculum with ease which allows teachers to provide enrichment opportunities encouraging exploration, investigation, creativity and fun! ACTIVE G&T PARENT COMMUNITY P.S. 145 has a very vocal, active and dedicated G&T Parent Group which meets regularly with school administrators to discuss program goals and performance. Communication and outreach are priorities, and parents have set up a G&T Parent website to offer support and further address concerns and issues. Boasting a whopping 88% of teachers with masters degree or higher (citywide average is 78%), small class size, computers in every classroom, an excellent G&T program, a wide range of academic and enrichment programs, a newly set up library, bright and cheery classrooms, a charming reading garden and courtyard and an ideally situated location on the Upper West Side, P.S. 145 The Bloomingdale School definitely lives up to it’s motto: "We’re like no other school in the World!!!" |

APPLYING FOR ADMISSION TO P.S. 145 G&T PROGRAM All children residing in District 3 may apply for admission to P.S. 145. Non-District 3 residents may also apply, but priority placement is given to District 3 residents. Kindergarten children must be five years old by December 31, 2005 to be eligible for Fall 2006 admission. For more detailed information on how to apply for the P.S. 145 G&T Program, please call our Parent Coordinator Carlos Salamanca at (347) 563-5299. |
