Pre-K is a federal program hosted in New York City schools. The Pre-K admissions process is decided through a lottery. P.S. 145 has three full time Pre-K programs with 18 children per class and each class has a teacher and an assistant.
Early Childhood
In 2013, the Department of Education introduced a new online application called Kindergarten Connect. For entrance to kindergarten, parents fill out a single application, listing up to 20 schools, online, on the telephone or in person at an enrollment office in January and February. Families who do not apply during that period will still be able to register for kindergarten after February, either at the CSD 3 Family Welcome Center or at the school.
If you would like to accept your Kindergarten placement offer, you must pre-register. When you go to the school to pre-register, please bring your child with you. Also, you must bring the following:
-
Your child's birth certificate or passport
-
Your child's immunization records

-
Two documents to verify proof of residence

Program Admissions
P.S. 145 has two Dual Language Programs: a Spanish and a Russian program. Once you have submitted your application to P.S. 145, and your child has been offered a placement, please arrange for your child to be screened for language fluency in the target language of your choice. If your child qualifies for the Dual Language Program, you will receive a letter of acceptance. Zoned students will have priority.
